Gene (right) is holding York #1 and I’m holding #2. My Yamaha (not pictured) is still bare brass. Gene let me spend an hour or so in a practice room with the York’s and it was a real treat to play these tubas.

It cleared up some of the questions I had about the Chicago York copies. I was told that the Yorkbrunner was not as good of a copy as the Nirschl or Yamaha York Clones. In my opinion they are all good copies. York #1 is several inches taller than #2 and has a few differences in the valve set etc… The Yorkbrunner appears to be a very good copy of #1 while the Yamaha and Nirschl tubas are very good copies of #2.
