A friend's father found this tuba literally at the dump. It's clearly in BBb - it is playable, but it has some (quite visible) damage. It's one of those horns where the valve slides for the 3 upright piston valves are actually on the "back" of the instrument. I've only seen instruments like this in "very old band photos".

I couldn't find any engraved words or serial number on the horn... (but the light was pretty darn dim!)

Any thoughts, info, links, etc. would be appreciated.
