Studying abroad

I am considering auditioning at some non-US music schools as a transfer undergraduate. I speak German (poorly, but I could learn again), so schools in German speaking countries would be great. England and Canada had also crossed my mind, as well as Scandinavia (with players like Michael Lind and Oystein Baadsvik emerging from that corner of the world, I have to wonder if it might be a good place to study). What I am unsure of is how to get started trying to find good tuba teachers abroad. I know only of Robert Tucci in Munich, but I'm not even sure if he is associated with a university.

Also, what concerns should I be aware of in terms of playing style and instrument choice in different regions? As in, would a "Jacobian" approach to playing and piston-valved CC and Eb tubas be unwelcome in Germany or Austria?

Thank you very much for any input,

~Luke Storm
