Very Good Point, but who needs all that trouble trying out a million horns. Thats why consistency matters. I dont think that I will ever own anything besides a willson because they are extremely consistent. It is difficult to find those RARE exceptions. I tried out a total of about 7-8 967/968's and a few stood out, but none had the character of tone or projection that MOST of the willsons I have tried have. So it might just be preference, it might just be point of view, but I believe that consistency and reputation matter.
