Now I know that not everyone was born into the musical world so I want to ask this question. Who here basically went out into the world of tuba and euphonium without the help of his/her family. Also...how did you do it. I ask this because I'm at a school that I really don't want to be at and although my teacher insists that I transfer to a better music school to study with some great teachers, my parents refuse to back me. So basically I have to put myself through the rest of school and whereever I do decide to go, I have to find a way to live (housing, job, etc.). I guess all I need is some guidance, thats why I'm asking anyone who was in my shoes what they did to survive.
