Excellent advice! I do this very thing when I try horns. With this considered, some very expensive horns sit unsold at our retailers for a long time because of the intonation issues they present. I know of one "tuba guy" at a major retailer who is now testing and rejecting horns as needed a little more agressively than this store has in the past (Hi, RL!). I really kind of feel sorry for the guys who have taken on retailing tubas in some respects as I imagine they have a number of clunkers slip thru every so often that they must deal with. Cost of doing biz, I guess.
