You can also fit a modern Alexander-sourced pipe to one of those horrible 164s and clean up a LOT of the funkiness without loosing that sound (gotta admit, there are very few sounds as distinctive as that of a good old Kaiser Alex)
I do agree with Mustafa about the comparison being a little unfair in some ways, but the comparison does serve a purpose, since the NEW big Alexander horns far outsurpass the well-deserved mystique of the old ones!
