BBb? I thought you didn't want to change keys?

I would consider the Weril. In either BBb or CC, it's about two grand or even less. It's modeled on the Yamaha 621 series, which is about as close as it gets to a pocket tuba that still has a good dynamic range. If you have more to spend, a Yamaha 621 (again, available in either BBb or CC, and even F) would be something to consider that's a little more open blowing and well-made than the Weril. After that, you are into Miraphone 184 or Conn xJ territory. If you prefer rotary valves, look into the 3/4 Lidl that Lee Stofer is importing, which is also quite inexpensively priced and well-made, too.
