If I were you (and I was a long time ago with my Rudy Meinl 4/4 CC), I'd try and find some extended ferrules for the main tuning slide. I installed these on my Rudy and the sharpness cleared right up. I'm sure that one of the top notch repair guys around here could suggest how to find such parts and even suggest a person to do the installation. Problem solved.
