Very interesting. I have a Bohm & Meinl 5500 (BBb) which is a marzan clone. I too decided that the leadpipe was a bit too short, so I had Doug Elliot make me a shank for my mouthpiece that is one inch longer than standard. It made the instrument more comfortable (for me) and enabled me to push the tuning slide back in a bit.
