We played this piece a couple of years ago. It was okay. I like the piece but it was expensive to produce, not popular with the public (they didn't buy the tickets), and the tuba part was a little bit of a sleeper. There was a nice lick near the end of the piece but it was mostly time for a book. If you like a British imitation of Mahler's 8th (the required orchestral forces are that substantial) then this piece might be for you.
