Many years ago I built a 14' sailboat from 3/16" plywood coated with the WEST System without cloth reinforcement. At the time they called it "Saturation Epoxy Coating". It's very similar to the Epoxy Barrier Coating process they describe on the westsystem.com site.

The result was thin, light, strong and waterproof (very important for a boat). A wooden case coated on both sides with the WEST System, even without cloth, might serve your purposes very well.
