The best advice I could give is to seek-out and create as many playing opportunities for yourself as possible. Also, the professionals you mentioned have other interests in their lives that help prevent burn-out, which everyone experiences from time to time. You're not cheating yourself by pursuing other interests while maintaining your playing level. If it wasn't for my other non-music related hobbies, I'd go crazy!
