KILLER low range...you'll need it as the only tuba in a 45 pc. wind ensemble, and you'll need more of it than a Miraphone can deliver. The nice thing is that the Willson's intonation, unlike a lot of touted tubas, is comparable to Miraphone's (superb). In addition, the thing (although big) is flexible enough to use for other stuff, too.
Incidentally, if you decide on something else in a couple of years, I can just about guarantee you a higher resale value on the Willson 3100 as opposed to a Miraphone 187 (and am I being too brash to suggest that you probably would be thinking of reselling in a couple of years, if you bought the Miraphone?)
