I have the same problem (on my PT4 the 1st valve slide is really short and I have to be careful not to pull it out) and have been thinking of getting a tuning bar installed. This attaches to the main tuning slide and allows you to control the pitch of the entire horn with one handle.
Anyone else tried a tuning bar? Pros? Cons? What are your opinions?
