One book that has come in quite handy from time to time for my programs is "Program Notes for the Solo Tuba." It was compiled by Gary Bird and is published by Indiana University Press. Good luck finding it in any library, but it's worth a shot. The book has notes for 88 pieces for solo tuba and about 5 composer profiles. Great source if info... check it out and good luck!
