sometime ago I purchased (off this BBS) a 981 and found it played better than either of two 982s owned by my brass band. Is the leadpipe the only difference, and would changing the leadpipes on the 982's result in a more open sound. I have played several 982s and none have the open feel as my 981, though I admit that I have not played any other 981s to compare with mine. Thoughts?
