These are the last few remaining orchestral F's, I suppose, before B&H stopped making them in the 50's or thereabouts. They are small, but are well-suited to their size, and they are still sought after by those interested in British orchestral tuba playing pre-Fletch.

I tooted on one that belongs to Jay Rozen about 15 years ago, and remember being favorably impressed. I've conversed with Jay recently, but I can't get him to tell me about that instrument. I'll have to work on him some more. Depending on when you saw the one at UNT, it might have been his--he was there in the early 80's.

Only a few of the F's were compensated, though. Were the ones you remember? I don't recall if Jay's was or not. The real Barlow tubas had five valves in a 3 up 2 side arrangement that would be hard to forget.
