The very small, VERY HEAVY, and U-G-L-Y lookin' 4 comp. valves Besson F tubas (of the 1960's, I'd guess) are quite rare. I've seen maybe four:

- one at the University of Miami
- one at the University of North Texas
- one that someone dragged to Lexington, KY, for that T.U.B.A. shindig back in the '80's
- one on ebay, being sold out or northern England

Frankly, I LIKE those disgusting little beasts. They seem to blow freely, the "funk" range isn't bad, and the only real flaw is a (lip-able by me) flat 8th partial.

Does anyone else who has encountered these F's LIKE them, besides me? There seems to be a universal disgust, if not hatred of them by "those who knows".
