Intonation question

Is there anything I can do, mechanically, to correct an intonation problem that happens only in certain ranges? For example, (BBb tuba) first-valve notes are in tune in the lower range (e.g. low Ab), noticeably sharp at the next higher Eb, and very flat on the upper Ab. I could, of course, continually adjust the 1-valve tuning slide as I play, but would like to see if there's another solution. My horn is a Meinl-Weston 25 and I have tried 3 mouthpieces with it: Bach 18, Melton 24, and Denis Wick 1L. The problem occurs with all of them.
