I had a tough time choosing between the 3L and the 2L. so, I bought a 2SL, 2XL, and a 3XL. The 3L did not have as much projection as my 2L, although I felt the tone and response were better all around. I enjoyed playing the 2Sl more than the 3L because the projection and ease of response and high notes were better; the 3L had better tone on the low notes, however. I bought the 2XL to see if I could get the tone of the 3L with the projection and perhaps ever greater projection than the 2L. It is perhaps a little big for an old Imperial EEb but I like the 2XL very much--the tone is much better than the 2L and the range and projection are greater. Bill
