Hello, all. I did a cursory search of the archives and did not find anything on this topic, and I think it could be a beneficial thread.
How do you go about preparing a previously unknown work for our instruments? I recently had the pleasure of premiering a new work and had a great time working it up. Since we already assume that "practice, practice , practice" is necessary, let's talk about other ways that we prepare with no recordings, or even history available.
