f# - 3rd + trigger

Also, the higher pitch makes the slide 'shorter' from 1st to 7th, helping in facility (a little).
I read an article some time ago advocating a 3-half-step trigger. From F below the staff on up, you'd never have to go beyond 4th position (albeit a long 4th, but noticeably shorter than 4th with an F trigger). Except for low B, you'd never have to go beyond 3rd. One of these days I'm going to get my Symphonic tenor rigged with interchangeable slides, F and a G (and an E/Eb, while I'm at it!)
Joe Baker, who says he will do lots of things "one of these days", but really will do this one.
