I owned one of those 5520 factory CC's for several years and echo what Dale said. Nice horn, but a little funky intonation. All brass, no nickle silver whatsoever on it. I heard the the BBb's that were cut to CC did not have this problem. Where I currently go to school, Lee University, we have an old Marzan slant rotor BBb tuba in almost unplayable condition that sits in storage. Basically the same outer branches and one piece bell and the B&M's, but with nickle silver tuning slides. A lot less sharp turns in the tubing, and all the valve slides except the main point down. The low register is very open and the high register responsive up to double high Bb - my limit, it may sound good past there but I will never know ;) The sound on this horn is nothing short of incredible, and the intonation is very workable - fifth overtone open D is actually in tune!
