I've read the posts about trying to "tune" HP horns to make them play at modern pitch by using slide inserts, or adding to the slide lengths in another way, but what if you decided to cut an HP BBb horn to a CC? Would you just have an HP CC, or could you make a modern pitch CC without any intonation quirks associated with a BBb HP to LP conversion?
Also, with CC horns can you play as low as on a BBb, or is some of the range lost?
