But I have seen it done to perfection. Gil Corella does it routinely in his playing, and I saw him do it during a Bach piece with harp accompaniment. There was no room to hide. It allowed him to musically complete the phrase to beautiful effect. Note that I said "saw" instead of "heard". Had I not been watching (and had I not known what to look for) I would not have known that he was doing it.
