Hey everyone.
I've just graduated high school :-D and I'm looking forward to Georgia Tech. A little while ago we decided that musicality is the issue when playing (though technique is important). However, I've set it as a personal goal to extend my high range. My question, how high is 'normal'? Right now I can normally hit F above the staff, and usually G. On good days I can go up to C above that. Should I stop, satisfied that this is enough, or is it possible to keep going? If so, any tips on embouchure up there, and air flow?
Thanks!
Doug "high?" G
PS I anint buying an F tuba :-( So any advice should take into account that I'm using a Getzen CB-50 CC. Mouthpieces, however, I'll be more willing to experiment with.
