If you made them light enough, fingering them would not be a problem. Linkages are surprisingly easy to design with ball-and-socket joints.

Maintenance would be the real trick. Thayers have an axis along the airpath, so they are disassembled in the direction of the tube. Stacking four or five of them on top of each other would make taking them apart a real challenge.

Plus, what would you put into the horn to provide some resistance so that more than five people in the world could play it?
