Dents and removal

OK, my horn has some minore dents that effect nothing...But they are beginning to be an eyesore. Most of these are on the bell section, some on the outer area's on the lower bow, a couple on the outer branch, and one dead center of the upper bow (probably cause by a band mate carrying a stand while I had the horn resting putting my stand away).
Most of these I trust our local repair tech with...but what he does for the upper bow just kills me to think off...To get dents out way up in the bow, he CUTS the bow in half, remove the dents, makes a ferrule and "re"assembles the bow. I have one dent up there (probably 2/3" by 1/4"), where he told me this is how he would have to get to it.
I am sure this is not the only way to remove this dent...Its just an eyesore, so if it is the only way, I'll deal...If not, does anyone know someone in the North Florida/South Georgia area (I just won't send the horn off to get that done) who could get the dent without cutting my horn?
Thanks for your help,
Steve C

Oh, and if it helps the horn is a Yamaha YCB-822
