I have the same horn (with both bells) and yes, the low F is something to behold. It also has the nicest F#-Gb I've ever heard on a BBb. I think that this horn produces a consummate American sound. I had to respond to this post as I also have owned the 1955, (but not the '54) Buick Roadmaster and it is the perfect analogy for the Martin! Sam: could you e-mail me re your upright bell? I'm curious as to what you use because factory uprights are rare.
