I have to weigh in here with my favorite sounding American BBb. It's my Martin 6/4 front action 4-valve. I have both upright and recording bells for it. It's about like driving a big 1954 Roadmaster Buick. Nothing to equal the sound of the low F on this horn. I have owned the 2Xjs, the Holtons and King BBbs. They are fine, but this Martin gives me a real reason to own a BBb tuba beyond what I can find in my 5/4 Rudy and 6/4 Holton CCs.
