The Hal Leonard book, Advanced book is indeed terrific. I have 6 copies, including a very worn copy Don Herren (then Denver Symphony player, ex-Chicago Civic and extra with Chicago) had me work from in high school. I have found copies recently in various music stores in Portland and Chicago. The main value is the text which Jake wrote to go with the standard/favorite etudes---his concepts and self-help pointers epitomize his teaching and sound ideals. We did the Paudert and Kopprasch etudes from this book but often referred back to the treble clef versions in the Pottag horn book. If the Hal Leonard is out of print then I for one would visit Kinkos. Jakes material probably does not constitute more than 10% of the total and may indeed be legal to copy. By the way, the trombone advanced book has great warm-ups and concepts---by Robert Marsteller.
