You may think me full of --it, but from my experience as a very busy repairman (with far too many potential customers) with a nearby colleague who is also a very busy repairman, HE became VERY involved in becoming a machinist, and incorporated machine work TOO much into his repair work. (I won't go into endless examples.) He ended up going broke, and only an inheritance thing sort of bailed him out. He is still at it, pursuing the same "OVERdoing it" methods, and still functioning off of the inheritance.

Repair work and machine work are two separate disciplines. They have quite a bit of overlap, but they are not one-in-the-same. I believe that Mr. Hickman will agree with this.
