I believe that between Frederick Fennell recordings with Tokyo Wind Ensemble and the University of Illinois recordings of Harry Begian; you might be able to find some good expamles of each of the pieces in question.
(yes, I know that the Fennell ensemble stated is wrong, but I don't have my copies in fron of me at the moment), and my spelling is off.
The Vaughn Williams Hammersmith has suffered from a wide variety of tempo. I have played it a quarter note of 60 and 90.
The Mendellsohn is marked allegro moderato in the orchestra version, although I am trying to remember the exact tempo markings at the tuba sections.
The others I am not as familiar with, and will leave for others to comment on.
