You are fully right!
Sibelius is superior to the free Notepad application from Coda.
However the only valid arguments ever uttered for using Sibelius over the full Finale application center in on Sibelius being easier to use in the initial learning phase. And even that is doubtable.
More experienced users all swear to Finale, because it puts the user in a much higher degree of control over the graphic output. And readability, including a factor as note spacing, is a major factor in music engraving.
Furtherly Finale has two very helpful internet forums, where experience, templates, and free plug-ins are shared.
Sibelius can not give anybody such open forums.
