Yeah, when I play FF pedal, it seems like my lips are barely fluttering and there isn't much volume. It varies on which of my horns I am using as to how well I can get this sound. It is definitely NOT a usable sound in playing any thing musical! Once in awhile I will use a pedal tone BB on the final chord of an ensemble number.
What was the simple experiment you were speaking of?
