The specific situation referred to, is that John had specified that he wanted to take his tuba to ITEC. And I spelled out the title behind that abbreviation. So there would be an obvious reason for bringing a tuba along.
As a private importer of larger and smaller brasses I most certainly have had the customs hammer come down on me. About 30% of the combined value of goods and shipping.
One more thing: the forthcoming attitude from the Danish/EU customs authorities, as referred by me, should not lead to any conclusions, that the US authorities will show the same attitude at the reentry into the US. They might do so. But please do not referre to me.
