In fact, Sam has a daily 80 minute "breathing lesson" class that meets EVERY weekday morning at 7:20 AM, in addition to the scheduled weekly lesson. It is an informal class (not a scheduled "class" that is required). So a motivated student can "meet" and learn from Sam literally 5 days a week. In addition, when in town, Patrick Sheridan is a regular attendee (he lives very close to ASU).
Name any other tuba studio in the world where students get this kind of access to the teacher. I am waiting...
Not sure where you heard that rumor, but it is way off. The reality is that Sam's students see more of him than students at any other major studio in the country.
