An F tuba will not extend your range. It makes that extended range more comfortable, but if you can't buzz a high Bb, you can't play it. A high Bb buzz on a CC tuba is exactly the same frequency of buzz as a high Bb on an F tuba. I can't buzz that frequency, so I can't play it on any key of tuba. Besides, you wanna loan me the coin for an F tuba? I wouldn't turn it down... :-) I have been told by a couple of players that my horn doesn't seem to slot really well in the very high register, but those players also have a much better high range on my horn than I do.

I am looking for suggestions on how to strengthen the center of my embouchure, and at the same time be flexible.

Thanks!
