I, too, am interested in bathing my silver piston valve tuba, but I am not quite as courageous as Todd, so I am going to shell out the cash to have it professionally done. What I was curious about was to how necessary it would be to have it done. I am sure my tuba could use a good cleaning, but how often should a tuba get a chemical bath? The last one that was done to it was in the spring of 1999. I have played it pretty regularly since then. Is it time for another, or should I wait?
