I've been playing on a PT-6(rotor) with a PT-88 for about two years now.. the PT-88 even longer than that. I absolutely love the sound that I get with this set up.. honkin low register and plenty of zing to my upper register. However, recently I've become less and less pleased with the clarity I'm getting. I'm beginning to wonder if it is time to move on to a different piece or if this is an issue that should be pounded out in the practice room. If the practice room is it.. any suggestions as to approaches?

I kinda have my eye on a PT-72 or PT-44.. both of which I've played on my PT-6 for short stints but I keep going back to the 88 because of the sound I get with it. Is there a 'standard' match that will always work well on the PT-6?

All thoughts welcome
