I agree with you about the overlooked 4th. My favorite recording of that one is Bruno Walter conducting the NY Philharmonic. Walter doing the Titan with the Columbia Symphony is also a great listen, IMHO. No instrumental pyrotechnics, but good solid interpretation, which shouldn't be surprising as Walter was a good friend of Mahler's and a big advocate of his music.
