The recording of Mahler #2 by Bruno Walter and the New York Philharmonic is something that all tuba players should give a listen. Yes, the recording is old and technology has come a long way but Bruno Walter had one of the best interpretations of Mahler #2 (this is according to Arnold Jacobs). To top it off, Bill Bell was still in New York at that time and his playing is brilliant.

Mr. Jacobs thought Mahler #6 was his favorite symphony. Maybe this is because of the 12 page tuba part. Give the Solti/CSO Mahler #6 a listen.
