When I ship tubas by Greyhound Package Express (overnight, SAFE>[not so busy as to throw stuff like mainstream shippers do], and the farthest your tuba can fall is about two feet - think about it), I always go in at a slow time and "pre-tip" the counter help about $5. It is AMAZING how economical GPX is!
