For about a 1 year period a couple of years ago I carried my tuba around in a low-quality gigbag ("Brasswind" bag- I've never seen anything worse!) every day.. I went between 4 different high schools 3 days a week, and on really busy weeks that horn was coming in and out of the trunk/backseat of my car 7 or 8 times a day!
Now I must be REALLY lucky, because when I sold that horn it looked EXACTLY as it did when I purchased it about 2 years earlier. Not to say that it didn't have any scratches or dents in it.. but it didn't get any under my care!
