Although many do not believe a small instrument like the flute is a high flow rate instrument, this is true, it requires as much if not more air than the tuba. Maybe they need a more effecient way to play rather than wasting a ton of air - perhaps a flue with a mouthpiece?

I Have been selling a lot of flute players breathing equipment, especially 5 liter bags. I even exhibited at the National Flute Asscociation show and had a sign on my booth: "If you think it takes a lot of breeze to blow a tuba, did you ever try playing a flute." The tuba players who saw the sign loved it, flute players didn't get it.
