You got it! This was something Mr Jacobs thought flute players should try. Using the venturi effect, you blow a steady sream of air in the center of the tone hole and, in theory, it would pull more air in. He demonstrated it with a six liter bag, blowing in the center, he could fill it in one breath although at that time he had about three liters capacity.

Keith Underwood seems to be doing something like this in the flute world and teaches it with five liter bags. Whereever he goes, I get orders for bags!

Now if they'd use mouthpieces??
