The best way to solidify the low register is simply to "live down there" for a while. I like the Snedecor book as well and use it in conjunction with reading Rochuts down 2 octaves. There is another excellent and very advanced low register book entitled 48 Low Register Studies by Micky Wrobleski. The book is published by Chicken Scratch Press and I believe it is only available to order through Windsong Press. This is by far the most exhaustive (in more ways than one) low register book I have seen.
