In real world instruments, tone, respone, and intonation are related. Horns That are pretty good in one of these areas tend to be pretty good in other areas. Taking your examples as an attempt to make a point by extreme examples, perhaps most players would look for a horn 1st with good tone, followed by workable intonation. Most horns with these two good qualities would also have reasonable response.
