I need a good understanding of how piston valve sets are assembled before undertaking
a project that involves cannibalizing parts from two different horns. I need to
separate a valve set (remove the fourth valve) then reassemble pieces onto a different
valve set.

The valve sets in question are from King euphoniums. There are two posts between
each valve casing, along with the small crook that goes from casing to casing. Are
the posts mechanically fastened to each casing, or is everything held together with
silver-solder?

Is there a silver-solder available that will be a good color match for matt-silver
plate? The silver-solders that I currently have are slightly yellow, enough that
getting a good color blend is impossible.
